Abstract

Mathematics is a branch of science that can improve the ability to think and argue, provide solutions and contribute to solving everyday problems and in the world of work as well as providing support in the development of science and technology. Newman Proceedings is a tool used to find out the student problem-solving errors the research objectives to be achieved in this study are to describe solving mathematical problems using the Newman procedure. The results of the study were errors in reading the questions are given with an error percentage rate of 0%, meaning that students can read the questions given. The error in understanding the questions given was 42.38%, meaning that students who worked on the questions did not understand correctly the purpose and intent of the questions given. The transformation error with a percentage of 63.65% means that students cannot transform their ideas or ideas into mathematical language. Process skill error with a percentage of 31.83% means that students are still not skilled in solving the given questions. The error in writing the final answer with a percentage of 78.92% means that the student after giving the final answer but does not write the conclusion from the results given.
