THE EFFECT OF SONG ON THE STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN LISTENING SKILL AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMP N 1 BAWOLATO
The research was done through quasi experimental design. The population of the research was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato which consisted of 208 students while the samples were class VIII-a as the control class and VIII-b as the experimental class consisted of 72 students. After validating the test, the students’ mean mark result in the pre-test of the experimental class was and for the control class was . Both were categorized less. After giving treatment, the result of the data computation of experimental class, the mean score was 80.92 stated good, while in the control group was 63.89, which was categorized adequate. It is concluded that there is a significant effect of Song on the Students’ Listening Skill at the Eighth Grade of SMP Negeri 1 Bawolato. Based on the findings of the research, the researchers suggests to the English teacher to use this media to teach listening skill to the students.
