Implementing guidance and counseling in schools is aimed to optimally develop the personality of students themselves. Through counseling guidance, it is expected that the potential of each student can be explored and developed appropriately, so that students can plan their future according to the potential that exists in themselves. This research was aimed to reveal the obstacles encountered in the implementation of Guidance and Counseling in SMP Negeri 3 Alasa and SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Idanoi with data sources; principal, subject teacher, and guidance and counseling teacher. Data collection techniques are interviews with interview guidelines, and also documentation. The results of the study revealed that, the obstacles in implementing Guidance and Counseling encountered in the field were related: (1) The realization of the four principles of guidance and counseling according to the direction of the 2013 curriculum maximally, (2) Fulfillment of special funds or budgets for the implementation of guidance and counseling that have not yet been realized.
