The students’ lack of interest and motivation in learning Mathematics led to the low level of motivation, interest and the learning outcomes the students’ gained, which was far beyond expectation. Thus, a solution through a quiz learning method was given. This research was conducted to see if there was an effect on using quiz to enhance the students’ motivation and learning outcomes. This research was Quasi experimental by taking the Non-Equivalent Control Group design. The population was the tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Pembda 1 Gunungsitoli, year 2017/2018. The samples were the tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Pembda 1 Gunungsitoli consisted of two classes, X-MIPA 1 as the control class and X-MIPA 2 as the experimental class. The instruments used were questionnaire of motivation and achievement test. The gained data was analyzed through statistical inferential. The result showed that the students’ motivation and learning outcomes was better through quiz learning method than the class without using similar method. Based on the student’s average posttest score in experimental class was 78,50, while the control class was 68,23. The analysis of questionnaire of motivation revealed that the overall percentage of the students’ motivation in the control class was very high, while the percentage in the experimental class was high. Finally, it was concluded that the learning through giving the quiz gave positive effect to the students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes.
