Speaking is a very important skill which must be mastered by the students since through speaking skill, the students can convey everything in their mind orally. In speaking skill, the students are expected to communicate, express idea, knowledge, opinion, feeling, etcetera to the others. This research was aimed at finding out the significance effect of using College Bowl Strategy on the students’ skill in speaking at the first semester of English Education Study Program IKIP Gunungsitoli by applying College Bowl Strategy. This research was Experimental Research with quasi-experimental design by using Pre-test and Post-Test Control Group Design. As the result of testing hypothesis, it was found that tcount is 4.555 and ttable is 2.000. Since tcount (4.555) > ttable (2.000), it can be concluded that Ha is accepted.
