English speaking proves capability of an English language learner. When a second language learner was unable to speak English well, it created chained problems. English speaking needs groups to practice and also strategy to sharpen the ability. As random students from English department gathered in English speaking club, classical problem appear: weakness in mastering English Speaking. Through this study, the members of the club was trained and guided to achieve better speaking. Through implementing Active Knowledge Strategy, the students’ speaking was improved by using Classroom Action Research.. The samples were 7 students from the 2nd and 4th semester of English Department at IKIP Gunungsitoli, year 2017/2018. The research was conducted in descriptive qualitative analysis. The data was gathered through the observation sheets, field notes and speaking tests. The result revealed that the students’ speaking ability was improved.
